Air India will continue to operate one weekly flights between Amritsar, India & Birmingham Airport, UK for the winter season schedule that ends on March 27, 2021. In a tweet, the airline informed that the booking of this flight is open on its website or it can also booked at its offices, Call Centre and authorized travel agents.

The flight AI1117 departs Friday morning from Delhi at 10:30am in the morning making a short stoppage at Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport Amritsar. It departs Amritsar in the afternoon at 1:00pm reaching Birmingham at 4:20pm.

The aircraft AI1118 departs from Birmingham on Saturday evening at 7:00pm reaching Amritsar next day on Sunday morning at 8:10am. The same flight departs from Amritsar at 9:30am and arrives Delhi at 10:30am in the morning.

The national carrier is also operating 1x weekly direct flights between Amritsar and London Heathrow airport till end of March 2021. This flight departs Heathrow on Monday reaching Amritsar midnight on Tuesday at 12:05am. The same aircraft departs Amritsar on Tuesday arriving London Heathrow on the same day.

The FlyAmritsar Initiative, a civil society global initiative for a focused approach toward bringing in more international and domestic flights to the Airport thanked Minister of Civil Aviation S. Hardeep Singh Puri, Government of India and Air India for the addition and extension of flights to both the cities in UK till end of the winter schedule.

Amritsar Vikas Manch, a city based NGO also welcomed the continuation of flights to both the cities in UK that has a large number of Punjabi diaspora settled across both the cities and maintaining deep rooted connections with their homeland. The overwhelming demand for the past many years and even during the pandemic from Amritsar is definitely making an impact in the aviation world. We hope that Air India direct flight to London Heathrow will be a regularly scheduled route after March 2021.

After a gap of nearly 10 years, on 20th August 2020, the national carrier Air India, resumed its direct Amritsar-London Heathrow flights suspended in October 2010. Currently, both the flights to Birmingham and London Heathrow are operated under Air India’s Vande Bharat Mission.

Before the suspension of flights in March 2020, Air India was connecting Amritsar with 3x weekly direct flights to Birmingham and London Stansted Airport.
