There is good news for thousands of passengers traveling to/from Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport Amritsar. The Cat-3B system that assists in landing of flights in fog at the airport, which was shut down on Wednesday evening due to malfunction of Radio Visual Range (RVR) equipment is now fixed and fully operational. All the three RVRs are now available and Amritsar ready for CAT IIIB OPERATIONS.

As a result of malfunctioning of RVR equipment, many flights were canceled. This is a great relief to the passengers stuck in many cities in India as many daily domestic and international flights from Amritsar were diverted to Delhi or other cities.

The Cat-3B system helps the aircraft land even with a visibility of only 50 meters due to fog or any other reason. But it is important that the pilot is also trained and that the aircraft must be #CAT-3B compliant.
