Lohri was celebrated by the staff and management at Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport Amritsar. On this occasion, to promote plastic free airport, management in association with Amritsar Vikas Manch (NGO) & Fly Amritsar Initiative distributed non-plastic fiber bags along with peanuts, chocolates inside the bags to passengers and were encouraged to use these re-usable bags.
The staff and management at the airport headed by Airport Director Manoj Chansoria has made a very good arrangement. Bhangra team entertained the passengers and other attendess. Staff members of the airlines also joined into the celebrations by dancing to the Dhol beats.
Amritsar Vikas Manch Patron and Member of the Airport Advisory Committee Manmohan Singh Brar thanked the Airport Director and Airport Authority of India for their efforts. Yogesh Kamra, co-convener of Fly Amritsar Initiative and Additional Secretary AVM, said that in the financial year 2017-18, there was a record increase in the number of passengers at the airport and such efforts helped the passengers at the airport to be very happy. Manch Patron Dr. Charanjit Singh Gumtala along with member Daljit Singh Saini also participated in the event.
