It is notable that, Delhi and Mumbai are the most demanding and highly potential destinations from Amritsar, and are currently being served by multiple Indian carriers. It would be interesting to see how Go First will plan to cover the market share of these routes in the near future.

The introduction of these Go First flights from Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport Amritsar adds another success to efforts by FlyAmritsar Initiative and Amritsar Vikas Manch for the start of more direct flights from holy city, as Go First is now set to become the 6th Indian carrier to operate out of Amritsar Airport. In early January 2021, FlyAmritsar Initiative and Amritsar Vikas Manch approached the airline CEO and network team with detailed statistics, requesting them to commence domestic and international flight operations from Amritsar.

A team of Go Air executives later on 31 January 2021, visited the Airport and also paid obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib. AVM Patron Manmohan Singh Brar, Patron Principal Kulwant Singh Ankhi, President Hardip Singh Chahal, Secretary & Member Airport Advisory Committee Yogesh Kamra welcomed Go First officials at the Information office of Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar and requested the airline to add Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport Amritsar to their route map by starting domestic & international flights.
